Nobody is Perfect, I'm nobody. [4:25 PM]
While watching Boys over flowers, I realised that while some of us are very enthusiastic in perfecting the Korean language, especially in speaking, the Koreans are also very keen in polishing their English. It dawned upon me that people are not practising what their mentors are preaching. Our teachers are ranting endlessly for us to pass our chinese, (which often proves to be futile...:( ) while most of us here are practising on other foreign language. Well, people predict the Chinese market to prosper, and making China one of the major hub for trade. So why then are we practising on Korean, Japanese knowing very well of the limited opportunities to speak the language?

I've realised that we speak those languages because for some strange resons, it make us look cool and trendy. According to my 3hours-of-listening-to-the-characters-in-Boys over flowers-speaking-korean, I discovered that one of the factors that attribute to this feeling of being trendy, is the beautiful phonology of this language. Korean has charming prosodic qualities too.
The second reason for this is also becuase people want to associate themselves with these koreans.
you see for yourselves how beautiful these people are. It's no wonder that people want to have affliations with them - and firstly, by speaking the same language.
reality at its best.
